Dr. Alexander Laub has been working in the IP field since 1998 and assists MHP as an external consultant in various matters, such as handling European and German applications. His long-standing experience enables him to deal with technical fields where a background in physics and knowledge of electrotechnics is required or useful.
Dr. Laub studied physics at the universities of Mainz, Marseilles (France), and Tübingen. The university of Tübingen awarded him his diploma degree in 1994 and a PhD degree in 1998. His scientific work focused on Josephson junctions, which are based on a quantum effect with superconductors, and on electric devices that may be derived from coupling such Josephson junctions. Dr. Laub's skills also extend to low temperature and vacuum physics.
In 2001, Dr. Laub was admitted to the European Patent Office, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and to the German Federal Patent Court. He is also a registered European trademark and design attorney and a member of VPP, GRUR, and FICPI.
